Measurement Tips To Achieve A Great Fit

Reflections of Iman, wants you to shop with confidence.  We ask that you please read carefully our size chart, and our tips on taking your childs measurements. Remember to take in consideration that Islamic clothes are cut for a loose fit.  A great fit means a better looking and more comfortable Abaya.  To ensure the best possible fit, we have 'standardized' our sizing to conform with the average height, and age of a child.

We ask that you please take a minute and follow our easy measurement guidelines in order to find your child’s best possible fit.

Here are a few measurement tips:

1.         To determine your child’s abaya length, measure from the back of the Shoulder down to the ankle or heal of her foot depending on desired lenght

2.         Measure around your child's chest, and then add a few inches (approximately 3 inches or more) for a loose flow.  Takeing you child’s  measurements over their clothing is another way to ensure a loose fit.  If she is in-between sizes, then you may want to order the next larger size, Insha’Allaah. Chest: Place the tape under the arms and measure around the fullest part of her chest.

Hip/Mid-section: Measure around her natural hip area, keeping the tape slightly loose.

Sleeve: Measure from the end of her shoulder, and down her arm to the wrist.

Height: For best results, have her stand barefoot next to a doorframe, and then measure from head to the bottom of heal, you may want to have a family member help you with getting an accurate height measurement.

For the Best Fit:  It is important to note that, all of the measurements that we provide on our product page, are those of the actual garments, not the child's body size. You will therefore want to take this into account when calculating her size, leaving some extra room for a loose fit. We recommend you measure a garment that fits the child well and use those measurements as a reference.

Please note that the US average age and height chart sizes are only used as a reference, they might not be accurate for everyone. You can always feel free to send us an e-mail at customerservice@reflectionsofIman (or see our contact us page) if you need any addional assistance in determing the right size when it come to purching a garment for your child.

Please measure your child carefully prior to placing an order. The table below provides a general guideline for body and garment measurements.  Individual garments may vary due to differences in cut and style. The garment measurements listed below are only approximations and actual measurements may differ slightly based on designs.  For more accurate garment measurements, see the actual item listing for exact garment detail measurements.
